"Thanks"
The "teacher" of our "home-schooled" program recently taught our "students" how to use quotation marks in "this" way. It's now their "favorite" thing to do. The most popular "way" to "use" them is:
"You think you're 'fresh,' but you're 'lame.'"
The second most popular is, "Thanks."

What a hoot! I was thinking about a friend of mine who, upon finally understanding the purpose of the phrase I use all the time "what a hoot" began to just say "you're a who" whenever somebody was really "funny."
