new job

So, I applied for a possible new job at a company making plagiocephaly helmets for infants. I kind of wanted to see if there might be a better job for me out there. This was the most intensive interview process I have EVER been through. Phone interview, then 5 hour in person interview - complete with observations, followed by - and I am not kidding here - what felt like the GRE test. It was a 1.5 hour test, timed sections on logic/analytical thought, verbal reasoning, mathematical reasoning, and visual processing skills, followed by a full personality test.

It was weird. I can't remember the last time I had to fill analogies (____ is to cake as boil is to _____) (for those of you playing along at home, I am pretty sure the multiple choice answer was: bake, spaghetti - I am not making this up) or to reason out the next number in a sequence of 8. ( 3,5,2,4,8,10,7,14,?) (the answer there is more complicated... can anyone get it - it is 28.) Wow, all that for a job I am not really sure I want. How crazy is that???

So, now I am tired and my head REALLY hurts. Poor Bucky, I kept shouting out "What the heck???" During this test and he kept interrupting what he was doing to come in and make sure my head hadn't exploded. I think it upset the doggies too.

So, I got about ... 12 words into this post before I had to go look something up ... plagiocephaly. Now I know! That is the most insane interview process I have ever heard of - I had interview WEEKENDS that were less intense.

The funny thing was as I was reading down through the post I was like, "Who is writing this, Holly or Katie??" I didn't know. Well at that point I also didn't know what plagiocephaly meant.

What made you think about interviewing anywhere?
