A very special New Year's
It was quite a memorable New Year's Eve...Eve. I came back to DC from NJ on Dec. 30 and went to Brian's condo to exchange "big" presents and have a romantic pre-New Year's Eve. I walked into his place around 6:15 and asked if he wanted to eat dinner before we opened gifts. He ADAMANTLY said "NO!" ... he wanted to open his presents immediately. Or so I thought it was his presents he was excited about. We had around a half dozen gifts to exchange (some from his parents to me; some from my parents to him; etc.)...until their was one left. He handed me a Christmas gift bag that weighed next to nothing. I said there seemed to be nothing in it, but he (strongly) encouraged me to open it. And when I did, what I found inside was a card: the elusive 12th Card of Christmas!! (If you don't know the backstory of the "12 Cards of Christmas...just ask!) As I proceeded to open the card, Brian was pulling out a little "box" he had previously staged in his entertainment stand drawer. I slid the card out of the envelope, and on the front flap it said "I'm going to love being married to you." While I was busy trying to compute what was going on, Brian was getting down on one knee, opening his special little box, and asking me a most wonderful question: "Lori Robertson, will you marry me?". The rest, as they say, is history....
Enjoy the pictures. Have a wonderful New Year. And...get ready for another wedding!!!!
